The Welsh government are supporting post-16 providers in Wales to use the digital experience insights service as part of their Digital 2030 strategic framework.

Digital 2030: a strategic framework for post-16 digital learning in Wales

To support the post-compulsory education and training sector, Llywodraeth Cymru (Welsh Government) have developed Digital 2030 as a strategic framework to set out their shared vision, aims and objectives for post-16 digital learning during the next decade.

How digital experience insights can make a difference

We piloted use of the digital experience insights surveys with further education (FE) and work based learning (WBL) providers in Wales during 2018-19. Outputs from the pilot include a short report, individual summary publications and more detailed individual PowerPoint presentations:

What does my organisation need to do to take part?

If you are a Welsh further education (FE), adult and community learning (ACL) or workbased learning (WBL) complete our find out more form to let us know you would like to take part. Please include Wales 2020 in the section that asks ' What aspects of the digital experience insights service would you like more information on?

When do the surveys open and close?

Key dates for the Wales digital experience insights surveys:

  • January 2020 – expressions of interest and registration for FE providers
  • January 2020 surveys open (Wales specific)
  • February - March 2020 – expressions of interest and registration for WBL and ACL providers
  • 1 May 2020 – student surveys close (Wales FE and UK)
  • 1 June 2020 – professional services staff surveys close (Wales FE and UK)
  • 3 July 2020:
    • student surveys close (Wales WBL and ACL)
    • teaching staff surveys close (Wales FE, WBL, ACL and UK)
    • professional services staff surveys close (Wales WBL and ACL)
  • November 2020 – Analysis, mapping and production of sector and national reports

Where can I find advice and guidance on running the surveys?

We provide extensive guidance on running the digital experience insights service (currently available in English only). See our advice and guidance pages.

We also provide editable templates in Word to help your promote the surveys to your students and staff (English and Welsh language versions available). These are downloadable from our resources page.

Note that to add your own logo, click on the marked logo place and select delete. You can then add your own logo and resize to suit, choosing the formatting/text wrap option of ‘in front of text’ to allow you to move it to the right place.
