2025 FE Teaching and Professional Services Staff National Surveys
Our Digital Experience Insights surveys offer an opportunity for staff to give their opinions on the digital working and teaching environment at their organisations, as well as the digital infrastructure, and the skills and training opportunities offered to them.
Many colleges run the surveys for themselves so they can get an insight into the experiences of staff at a local level. Our national surveys, new this year, will allow staff at colleges which do not run the surveys internally to have their say on what works well and what can be improved about their digital experiences in FE.
The survey (one for teaching staff and one for professional services staff) will take about 10 minutes to complete and will guide you through a series of questions covering topics like digital devices, accessing digital resources, and digital skills.
Each year we publish a series of reports outlining the state of play of digital learning, teaching and working in FE and HE organisations. Along with the feedback from survey participants at colleges running the surveys for themselves, we'll use the insights from our two national surveys to develop a more accurate picture of the digital experiences of FE staff in the UK in 2025. All responses help Jisc to inform and support the sectors in relation to the end user digital experience.
Launch date
Jisc's national surveys for FE teaching staff and professional services staff will launch on 9 April 2025 and close on 30 April 2025.

Information for colleges that participate in Digital Experience Insights
Colleges running the staff and student DEI surveys for themselves should continue to plan to deliver the surveys as usual. Running the surveys yourselves will enable you to gain particular insights into the digital experiences of staff at a local level, which will help you better respond to issues, target investment, and celebrate digital successes. We are not running a national version of the learner survey or any of the HE surveys this year.
The first question in our national surveys asks participants what college they work at. If they are at a college which is participating in DEI this year then they are provided with information to access the local version of the survey. Our national surveys are intended to provide an opportunity for staff at colleges that don't run DEI surveys to tell us about their digital experiences.
