2022/23 digital experience insights findings

Students and learners

35,919 students and learners from 63 UK organisations participated in our digital experience insights survey this year. The reports show how digital experiences have developed as students and learners have continued to move back to on campus learning, and they indicate a number of successes as well as areas of concern.

Teaching staff

4,067 teaching staff from 52 UK organisations participated in our digital experience insights survey this year.

Professional services staff

4,962 professional services staff from 35 UK organisations participated in our digital experience insights survey this year.

2021/22 digital experience insights findings

Students and learners

45,225 learners and students from 67 UK further education colleges, sixth form colleges and higher education universities participated in our annual student digital experience insights survey. The data gathered highlight how respondents are feeling as we start to move forward after the disruption of the pandemic, return to on-campus and use the learning from greater involvement in digital approaches to 'build back better'.

Teaching staff

6,224 teaching staff from 60 UK further education colleges, sixth form colleges and higher education universities participated in our annual digital experience insights survey. There are some findings that correlate with the student findings and some clear messages from staff about their desire for more support.

Professional services staff

With 7,523 participants from 40 different UK colleges and universities responded to the survey. Represented in its findings are librarians, IT workers, student services, as well as those from business operations and management.

Researchers

849 researchers from nine UK HE organisations responded to the survey which ran between October 2021 and July 2022. Download the report to learn more about researchers' experiences, what they found positive or felt negative about and to learn their views on how things could be improved.

Students and learners

A record 62,658 students from further and higher education participated in our annual student digital experience insights survey. The data gathered from our 2020/21 student surveys highlight areas of good practice that we can build on for the future as well as areas of concern.

Teaching staff

Over 6,550 teaching staff from UK further and higher education took part in our teaching staff digital experience insights survey conducted between October 2020 and July 2021.

Professional services staff

Over 6,660 professional services staff from UK further and higher education took part in our professional services staff digital experience insights survey conducted between October 2020 and June 2021.

Researchers (pilot)

922 researchers from seven UK higher education took part in our pilot researcher digital experience insights survey conducted between October 2020 and July 2021. Our summary report shares key findings from the survey.
